About Us
WELCOME! The Alligators Rugby Club was founded in 1995. The Clubs inception is attributed to the following group of friends; Mr. John Gatt Rutter, Mr. Chris Pace and Mr. Simon Mizzi. The team was initially formed in 1990/91 as the Malta University Rugby Team, triggering off the first edition of the Malta Rugby League that same year. As many of the founding members graduated from University, it was decided to rename the team in 1995. The team was initially sponsored by the Alley Bar in Paceville, thereby resulting in a new name - Alleygators RFC. The Alleygators dominatd the proceedings in their first year, and became the first Maltese team to win the league.
In April 2004, the club elected for the first time an executive committee elected for the first, with Mr. Peter Caruana at the helm.
Birkirkara Alligators RFC is the first club ever to have developed an action plan dealing with youth player recruitment. Under the management of Malta rugby icon, Mr. Christopher Martin, this section has been growing and improving, and has been a regular outfit in bringing back home silverware.

Birkirkara Affiliation
The affiliation between the Alligators RFC and Birkirkara happened in 2009. This was possible thanks to the hard work of a determined former Alligators president, Mr. Peter Caurauna. This was coupled by the sporting vision of Birkirkara mayor Michael Fenech Adami and his administration, who not only agreed to the affiliation status but has also awarded the Birkirkara Alligators Rugby FC facilities where they can train.

Today
With over a hundred members, and under the presidency of Mr. Adrian Hillman, the Birkirkara Alligators Rugby FC seem to be moving in the right direction in order to be a stronghold name in the Malta Rugby scene. With its own merchandise, and improved website, a new logo to distinguish themselves, and a new colour scheme representing the flying colours of Birkirkara, the club seems to have stepped up its game to give its history and heritage the honours it deserves, to make the present days a success story. For a brighter future!
